A Night Of Fashion

In a little over a month 'A Night of Fashion' will be held at the iconic Art Gallery in Adelaide. We are very excited, to say the least, as we will be bringing you all the latest trends straight from the catwalk!

Featuring the inspired works of Carla Zampatti, Bianca Spender, Willow, Scanlan & Theodore, Alice McCall, Akira, Collette Dinnigan, Suzy O'Rourke & Toni Maticevski. The designs featured will be presented as works of art, worn by the stunning models at Finesse and Pride, against the classic backdrop of the gallery.

The night will also act as a host to one lucky emerging artist or fashion designer in the 'Blank Canvas' competition sponsored by Cibo. The winners piece will be featured for all to see.

Other local sponsors include Media Makeup, Band Design and Digital Development Studio, Vale Ale, Fox Creek Wines, The Hills Cider Company, Zhivago and stunning floral arrangements by the Adelaide Flower House (a feature in itself!).

It will be a spectacular night, one not to be missed. Talk of possible outfit options has already commenced! If you are a lover of fashion and style come and join us, tickets still available.

Viva Italia

A little update on Carollina's (aka Boston's) travels through Italy!

So it's been a crazy week and a half in beautiful Italia.
My first stop was Rome, where my sites were set on exploring some of the most exquisite historical monuments. I viewed the city from the top of a double decker tour bus, winding its way through the quaint streets of Rome, the sun shining on my skin, and my hair blowing in the warm breeze. I ventured from the memorable Vatican City, all the way to the stunning Colosseum. As I approached each significant monument, a gasp of air was needed to take in what I've only ever seen in photo form... Now rising up before my very eyes.

My attempts to speak Italian definitely proved to be an exciting challenge while ordering some of Rome's finest cuisine.

My next stop, Pompeii. A must. The fresh air and quiet surrounds made for a relaxing stay. A little tour of the Pompeii ruins opened my eyes to what used to be, and what now is...

So just close your eyes and imagine....

Just a little update for you. Jealous?

Monochromatic

Monochrome.
In art, this merely means using shades of the same colour.
So is black then, just a very dark shade of white? Who knows!
We've all heard at one time or another that orange is the new black, green is the new orange and stripes are the new green, and so the trends continue. But the monochrome trend makes sense. It takes our focus back to our roots, back to the simple, sophisticated shades that have, and always will, ooze class and style.

All things monochromatic have emerged over the last few months taking fashionistas back to simple, sophisticated pairings of black & white, all white or all black. The clean, stark juxtaposition of two contrasting shades is as eye catching as things in a fluorescent palate, but without looking tacky! While all white is like a breath of fresh air. And all black manages to be formless, it can be grungy & moody, sporty or sleek & professional.
I believe that there is nothing better than a fresh, breezy, white shirt over figure-hugging leather pants for a simple, punchy combo - paired perhaps with leopard print loafers and a Celine tote. Unstated and elegant.

Keep an eye on Christopher Esber, Dannika Zen, Dion Lee, Alexander Wang and Winston Wolfe who are all doing stunning things in monochrome.
My advice... stock up! This trend is classic, and is sure to stick around. A simple, well fitting white Bassike tee is a worthwhile purchase. As is Balmain leather, preferably pants. But we may all need to save our pennies for those ones. Maybe one day!
